Parenting our special adopted children can be extremely challenging. Adopted children may have apparent physical, emotional, or psychological needs immediately upon being in adoptive/foster care. Often behaviors and symptoms do not appear until well after the placement or the adoption process is over. When there are parenting challenges and a parent is in need of support or resources, consider the Adoption Support Group, at Aurora Mental Health, 11059 E. Bethany Drive, Aurora, CO 80014 – 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Free babysitting is provided as well as a pot-luck dinner. Call Terri Wells, Adoption Support Group Facilitator, at 303-596-6500 for more information.

We can offer information and guest speakers on areas such as:
• IEP’s (individual education plan)
