Fostering Connections Act Fosters 63 New State Laws

In October 2008, H.R. 6893, the Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act became law (P.L. 110-351). In the 2009 and 2010 legislative sessions combined, 33 states and the District of Columbia enacted 63 different bills related to the provisions of the Fostering Connections Act. In the 2011 legislative session, state activity around the act continues to grow. The National Council for State Legislatures (NCSL) keeps track of newly enacted laws that have been introduced across the country. (Colorado has not enacted any new laws.)
