“Listening to Parents” Project Discussion Board

The Listening to Parents Project’s goal is to increase the number of children being adopted from foster care by making child welfare agencies more responsive to those interested in adopting a child from foster care.

The centerpiece of ListeningtoParents.org is a discussion board for adoptive, waiting, and prospective parents to share their experiences. Each state has its own area where parents can discuss the adoption process in their state—what works, what doesn't work, and changes they would like to see in their state's adoption process.

Go to www.listeningtoparents.org, click on "What parents say in your state" to join the discussion (you need to create a personal account, but your personal information is not shown on the discussion board). Join the mailing list to receive a monthly newsletter on what people are doing to make the adoption process more welcoming of prospective parents.
