The Arc of Colorado

The Arc of Colorado advocates for people with developmental disabilities; their ‘Resource’ section includes contact information for the local Colorado Arc organizations.

Parent to Parent of Colorado
Parent to Parent is a parent-initiated, parent-controlled group that builds inclusive communities, and supports each other in parenting children with special health care needs or disabilities. PEAK Parent Center
The PEAK Parent Center is Colorado's Parent Training and Information Center. PEAK is a statewide organization of parents of children with disabilities reaching out to assist other parents and professionals. Some of the services provided by PEAK include:

  • Information about the special education process and parents' rights;
  • Up-to-date disability information;
  • Parent Advisors who provide information and resources in English and Spanish, email to parentadvisor@peakparent.org, or in person by appointment;
  • Inclusion resources that show how students can be successfully included in general education classrooms
  • Referral to medical, educational, community services, and support groups;
  • Trainings on Individual Education Plans (IEPs), transitions (from grade à grade, and from school à adulthood), Section 504, Accommodations & Modifications, etc.
